What an awesome summer we had last year. Abounding Grace Ministries began as a street evangelism ministry in 1982 with a truck in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. In 1992 we established the church with the people that were meeting Jesus and needed a place to go. In 1985 we held our first “Jesus Loves You New York” outreach, where teams from around the country would come and join us for an intensive week of outreach. At times we’ve had as many as 125 stay with us. So July 2008 was our 23rd year of this outreach. WOW International with Steve and Linda (Peaches, from Peaches and Herb) Tavani, and Abounding Grace Ministries, converged on the Lower East Side.

Our church was transformed. Our people were energized. Our community was united. There were maybe 4-5000 people that day on East 6th St. for the WOW Jam and thousands at the other events. It was an incredibly anointed and exciting time. The music, message, ministry, food, games, prizes, service and ministry tents all provided a joy and freshness to evangelism that is seldom experienced. Over 350 people received Jesus, 62 were baptized in water, more than 5000 hot dogs and hamburgers were served, along with thousands of drinks, snow cones and snacks. Even 200 bags of groceries were distributed.

This year promises to be even greater. Jesus Loves You New York, 2009, will be a series of outreach events throughout the summer. WOW International will bring to the “WOW Jam” a team of 75. The Block Parties, 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament and Concert will also see a great harvest of souls. Because we no longer have the facility, our ministry teams will consist mainly of our church members and other believers that would care to join us. Prayer, love, hard work, partnership, camaraderie, effort, diligence and follow-through will create a wonderful atmosphere of expectancy where God will be glorified and also bring out the best in you. So come and experience a dimension of outreach you may have never experienced before.
